PLAYMOBIL® TOY SOLDIER ARMIES
playmobil is a registered trademark of Geobra Brandstätter

Over the years, Playmobil has produced toy soldiers from several different periods of history. Some have lent themselves very well to HG Wells Little Wars. We have called them the gunpowder armies and we've grouped our favorites into five somewhat vague historical periods.

The Musketeer period of our Gunpowder Armies begins sometime around the 1600s and continues up to the 1700s.

This was a time of great unrest in Europe and England. The Thirty Years War ravaged most of Germany and The English Civil War brought about serious political changes to the British Isles. There was also the romance and adventure of The Three Musketeers! It was a time of expanded exploration and colonial conquest, as the "civilized" nations continued to squabble over their claims in the New World. And ... it was a time for Pirates and Buccaneers!

We are pleased to be able to host the excellent craftmanship of David Hamer. The following images from the English Civil War (1642-1651) and The Age of Louis XIV (1643-1715) showcase but a few of David's fantastic creations using Playmobil figures. You can see even more of David's work at the David Hamer Pages. You can write to David at [email protected].
