All, thank you for your kind words for my tavern. I really enjoy these pages! really enjoy these pages! I had a couple of questions regarding the tiles and roof shingles... They were made by cuting out cardboard squares and rectangles, and then cutting them to look uneven and glued into place, piece by piece! Take care, Jonathan

Shingle by shingle?
No wonder they look so GREAT!
Thanks for your Pirates Log entry, Johnathan, and thanks for sharing your fantastic Tavern!
Now we want to see more! How about the whole Pirate town?

All the best,
Richard

---

Ahoy there Richard,

Ok, I decided to make the pirate town and have been working on it diligentily over the last couple of days...  If I can keep it up, I should be done in a few weeks!  I'll keep you posted and send photos when I have them...
I liked the feature on making the ships' figurheads.  Any word on any future features regarding customized ships?  I think it would be fun to make a "ghost pirate" ship, something based on Howard Pyle's "The Flying Dutchman" painting.

Take care, Jonathan

Stoemp de Waterzooi
(Both belgian dishes, Stoemp are mashed potatoes with vegetables, and Waterzooi is a plate of various northsea fish, shellfish and crabs, sounded good for a sailor, I thought!)

Arrr! 'Tis a fine beginning to an auspicious adventure ye have here Cap'n Dick. And like all good voyages the trip begins at the tavern! 'Eres a tip of me hat to mate Yonk fer 'is work on that establishment. A port ain't a port wit'out a place to whet yer whistle! And so a toast to kick off this venture - May ye always have wind in yer sails, gold in yer pockets and a sword in yer hand!

I've just come from Jonathan's Tavern and I must agree wi' Cap'n Davy - 'tis indeed right cosy and jus' the place to meet some 'andsome pirate men with pockets full o' silver... mayhap I'll meet ye in there for some grog and grub one day, Cap'n Dick! ;-) Pray keep up the hard work on yer site and I'll be sure an' visit as oft I can!

aaaaArghh! Them be right kind words there, Krissy! Methinks that maybe we mighta sailed th' same waters afore. Could that be now?
Full sails to ye and thanks for th' visit,
Cap'n Durty Dick, scurvy scourge o' th' Caribee!

---

'Tis quite possible ye've met me somewhere... there's many an ol' pirate who's had the pleasure already. :-)
But ye must surely be a brave cap'n if'n ye be allowin' wenches aboard yer ship! I've heard 'tis consider'd right bad luck to sail wi' women.
kryssy

Avast there, yer thirsty scurvy swabs! `Tis early days yet so I only seed the tavern; an`a mighty fine one she be! Thank `ee kindly Johnathan Yonk fer the showin´of her.I shall be makin`these pages a port o`call, in the next few weeks, to see what`s new. Cap`n Dick `tis a fine job yer doin` aharr! Full sails n' smooth sailin' to ye,
Cap'n Durty Dick, scurvy scourge o' th' Caribee!

Stop! Did ´ee say stop?? Have ´ee ferget? We be pirates, buccaneers, brothers o´the coast! We gives no quarter!! What`s a split side or two?
So you knows that there wench Kryssy? Methinks she be knowd from the Barbery Coast to the Isle of Tortuga!
Imagine my surprise when lookin´ up from the floor o´ Johnathan`s Tavern to see Kryssy`s foot comin`at me head! I don`t hold it `gainst her t`was probably in the way or she were funnin`. When I came to, she were gone. Mark you, `t isn`t every man that can boast o´ bein´ carressed by Kryssy´s boot.
Just a wurd of advice Cap´n Durty Dick. Don`t wish her a "full sail." She´s had her sail full six times already and don`t wish it to happen again, if you takes my meanin´! Ahaa haaarr

Welcome all ye swabs to GW's Pirate pages ... Leave a message here for the crew of the next passing ship and maybe we'll all be rescued ... ;o)
